What If Internships Actually Produced Something?

SPARK is a 6-week hybrid program. But it doesn’t work like traditional internships.
There’s no sitting in a corner. No “observing.” Students work in cross-functional teams — engineers alongside medical students alongside business students — because that’s how real product development happens in the world.
They visit actual industries. Not as tourists taking photos, but as investigators looking for real problems worth solving.
And then they solve them.
By the end of SPARK, every student has:
A Request for Proposal (RFP) document — This isn’t a school assignment. It’s a professional document capturing a real problem, a proposed solution, requirements, and an implementation strategy. Students have used these directly as their FYP proposals. Supervisors are impressed when someone shows up with industry-validated research on day one.
A SysML system model — Created in CATIA Magic, the same tool used by Boeing, Siemens, and Medtronic. Not a watered-down academic exercise. Real models that could genuinely be handed to a development team.
Connections that matter — Mentorship from US-based and local domain experts. A network of industry professionals. People who can actually help their careers.
A SPARK certificate — Yes, the paperwork HEC needs. But backed by something real this time.
“Wait, I’m a Medical Student. Is This For Me?”
This might surprise you, but medical students might have the most to gain from SPARK.

How SPARK Actually Works
Week 1-2: Teams form. Students learn Model-Based Systems Engineering, the methodology behind complex product development at major companies worldwide.
Week 3-4: Industry visits. Students go in as investigators, not observers. They interview stakeholders, watch processes, and document pain points. Real problems, not manufactured ones.
Week 5-6: Solution development. Teams ideate, model their solutions in CATIA Magic, define formal requirements, and produce their RFP documents.
The format is hybrid — online sessions with our experts combined with onsite industry visits. We handle the curriculum, industry partnerships, mentorship, and evaluation.
